Features
The membership year, screen by screen.
How Members handles the work that comes round every year — from the first application to the renewal nobody had to chase.
Sample organization shown · product in development
Renewal · no login
Renew from the email. No account, no password.
Every notice in a renewal cycle carries the same link, so the sixth reminder works as well as the first. It opens a page that shows the amount and takes payment. A one-time code is only asked for when a member goes further.
- Pay straight from the notice
- A one-time code by email for personal records
- Staff-assisted renewal and printed codes for members who need them
Membership lifecycle
Standing you never type.
Status is worked out from the term, the payment and your grace rules — the same answer everywhere it is used. When a person has to override it, they give a reason and it is logged.
- Individual, household and organizational memberships
- Levels, terms and grace periods as settings
- Overrides need a reason and leave a trail
Renewal questions
Ask less, and get it finished.
Renewal shows what you already hold and asks the member to confirm or correct it. Each question has its own cadence, so the survey you need every three years is not in the way every year.
- Confirm-or-correct by default
- Every renewal, every few, once, or when something changes
- Declarations kept word for word, with the version that was shown
Wallet cards
A membership card that keeps itself current.
On joining or renewing, members add a card to Apple Wallet in your organization’s brand. Renewal updates the date; a lapse greys the card out. The code on it verifies at the door with no signal.
- Your name, logo and colour — no 2Labs branding
- A contrast check before a card design can be saved
- Google Wallet to follow
Events
Events priced by membership level.
Set a price for each level and one for non-members. The right rate is applied from the member’s record, and shown against the public price so the benefit is visible.
- Members-only events read good standing at that moment
- A lapsed member is offered the renewal, not a dead end
- Continuing-education credits post on check-in
Renewals queue
See who has not heard from you.
If a notice lands in spam, so does everything after it. The renewals queue shows which notices bounced, went unopened or stalled at the code — so you know who needs a phone call instead of a seventh email.
- Bounced, unopened and unclicked notices
- Codes sent but never used
- Nudges that close themselves when the member renews
AI-powered import
Drop in the spreadsheet. Review the plan.
Upload any .xlsx or .csv and Members reads it — matching your columns to the right fields and flagging likely duplicates. Nothing is written until you approve.
- Automatic column mapping, with a sample from your file
- Duplicate detection before anything imports
- Review and approve — nothing is written until you say so
And more
The rest of the loop.
Online join and dues
Application and payment pages on your own connected Stripe account. Dues settle to you directly, and card details never touch your systems.
Member directory
A public directory page for each member with a good-standing badge, fed by the same record.
Invoices and tax
Invoices numbered and sent automatically, with GST/HST as set on each level.
Member portal, if you want one
Switch on a portal for profile, history and invoices. Renewal by link works either way.
Staff sign-in
One-time codes for staff, or Microsoft Entra ID single sign-on for organizations that require it.
Audit trail
Overrides, bulk emails and exports are logged with who, when and why.
Compare
How Members compares.
Against the four platforms a small Canadian member organization is most likely to shortlist. All four are capable, established products — this is where Members is different, and where it is not.

The honest rows: Zeffy costs nothing and is Canadian — if a sign-up form and a member list are what you need, use it. Join It and MembershipWorks both start below us for a small list. Members is for the organization whose year is its renewals — standing, grace, households and seats, questions at renewal, a card that keeps itself current — at one Canadian price that moves once, at 2,500 members.
1 WildApricot was founded in Toronto and is now part of a US-owned software group. Prices are each vendor’s published list price, read on 6 October 2026. WildApricot — US$66 per month for 100 contacts, billed monthly, with tiers at 250, 500, 2,000, 5,000, 15,000 and 50,000 contacts. It bills in US dollars and counts everyone in the database, so 2,500 members needs at least the 5,000 tier (check it). Join It — Starter from US$29 per month plus a 3% service fee on online payments (2% on Total, 1.5% on Extra); the monthly price rises with member count (check it). MembershipWorks — free to 50 accounts, US$35 to 300, US$145 to 2,500; it takes no share of payments (check it). Zeffy — free, funded by an optional contribution asked of the payer at checkout (check it). US figures are converted at the Bank of Canada daily rate of 1.4254 (5 October 2026, source), rounded to the dollar and shown with ≈ — they move with the rate. Our $50 becomes $150 above 2,500 members. Competitor pricing changes; verify on each vendor’s site.
